The "boudoir" (French for "bedroom) label for photography has become so all-encompassing lately that it really expands past the bedroom when most people think about the term. I've always distinguished between boudoir and glamour personally but as the term expands we all have to adapt. But for those wondering, and in general terms, if there's a bed or bedroom, that's boudoir. For everything else that's purely sexy, hot, fine art nude, etc. it's probably glamour. I'm not going any deeper in this post because that's not really what this story is about.
This is a story about Mandy and her boudoir/glamour session. When we consulted she had a lot of artistic and edgy photos with dramatic lighting in the photos she showed me so I wanted to be sure that we incorporated a lot of that into our work. We wanted to avoid a lot of color and instead focus on contrasty monotones and when we did do color, we limited the colors to only one. So we have a set with only a splash of red and a set that's just pink and white. I think we did a great job of capturing her grace and beauty while allowing her soul to shine through. Photography is an art that tells a story, I hope you enjoy hers.
If you can't wait to get into the studio, outside on the beach or any other location contact information is at the bottom of the post. I can't wait to work with you.
All of the photos below this line are beautiful but not all are safe for work. You've been warned.
The next set was done in the rain and though I hate to shatter illusions, we do this in-studio so that the conditions can be controlled and it's repeatable for all of my clients. And even though Mandy signed a model release, there are a few that she felt were too explicit to show on the blog and I agreed. They'll only ever see the light during client consultations. I like to think of it as an exclusive.
And now for a splash of color
