Boudoir Client's Buyer's Guide to Lingerie https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2017/5/boudoir-clients-buyer-s-guide-to-lingerie Corsets, corselette's, corset dresses, bone corsets and the other varieties are extremely popular with women who come in for boudoir sessions. They work for just about every body type and most can be worn as your main shirt too when worn with a pair of jeans or a matching skirt.

Girls love them because they make your waist look tiny and your boobies look big. Guys love them because...well, boobies.

THE BASIC CORSET
Not necessarily basic in terms of being plain, though they can be if that's what you prefer, I mean that they aren't any of the variations. No longer an uncomfortable apparatus that women were forced to break a rib to get into, corsets are now made of modern materials and while they may not be your favorite t-shirt with pajama bottoms, they're much better nowadays.

Here are some of our favorites along with the Amazon links to buy them. Also, a good place to get started and just get some ideas of what's out there for you. (Click on the pictures to be taken to Amazon where you can purchase)

Luxury Agent Provocateur and LaPerla

Corset-like boning and underwire cups lend sexy structure to this L'Agent by Agent Provocateur camisole, crafted in a mix of lace and mesh. Hook-and-eye closures and adjustable straps. 4 garter clips. Sheer. $198.00
A L'Agent by Agent Provocateur camisole in a mix of lace and mesh. Underwire cups and boned sides provide structure. Hook-and-eye closures. Adjustable straps and garter clips. Sheer. $149
A satin L'Agent by Agent Provocateur corset is structured with boning throughout. Gold-tone hook-and-eye closures fasten the front, and the back laces up for an edgy look. Four adjustable garter clips. $240.00

Your breasts enjoy a particularly aesthetic shape. $75.00

Perfect for any number of situations, including making breakfast (or lounging around waiting to be served breakfast), a chemise is a short, gown, often somewhere between mid-thigh and knee length. Chemises can be conservative and opaque or seductive and sheer (or some combination of the two). Look hot in this hot pink chemise set by Betsey Johnson. $44.99

This comfy lace cup bra with exquisite floral design by Agent Provocateur. Available in red with pink lace. $74.95

This lacy L'Agent by Agent Provocateur bra is fashioned with scalloped edges and sheer trim. Molded demi-cup padding at underwire cups. Adjustable, picot-trimmed straps. Hook-and-eye closure. Available in black $74.00

Beauty And Boudoir Orlando 2017 New June Dates! https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2017/4/beauty-and-boudoir-orlando-2017-new-june-dates
"I just want to be pretty".

"I need to feel beautiful"

"I've forgotten how it feels to be sexy"

These words resonate almost every time we speak to a woman about why she's booking a boudoir session. Sure, the other reasons are there, "it's a gift for a significant other", etc. but the quotes you just read are common. They're heartbreaking. They're also our mission and they're why we do what we do. Making you feel beautiful isn't something that we take for granted, our lives revolve around it and we're damn good at it.

We've taken the time to make our Beauty and Boudoir events special and something that every woman who attends will remember for the rest of her life. Not only will you have photos of yourself that you may think aren't even possible anymore, you'll have memories of the way you're treated, the way you're pampered and the way that our professional pamperers make you feel. Do you want to be sexy? Do you want to be pretty? Do you need to feel beautiful? You will.

When
We will have 4 time slots available on June 24th and 4 time slots available on June 25th. Each time slot is 2 and a half hours which includes hair, makeup and your session.

For Information on How To Book Your Session

The Location
While we can't publicize the location quite like we wish we could, we're really excited about it. In the past, we've shot at places like the Ritz Carlton, The Don Cesar, The Castle and a beautiful boutique hotel. We look for a location with separate rooms for shooting and for makeup and hair and an area to wait in and review photos. I always look for a place with at least one defining feature that puts it over the top and this place has more than one. My favorite is the large jacuzzi/tub in the room that's going to make for amazing photos. We also have a huge window to let in light and an amazing king sized bed with a glass and marble shower.

We're Also Giving Away A Pampering Prize Package To One Lucky Winner!
Because we're so excited about this year, one lucky registrant is going to win a prize package worth over $300, essentially making your session free! Since this is a very limited space event, the odds of winning are very good! Beauty and Boudoir Orlando 2017 Sold Out! https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2017/4/beauty-and-boudoir-orlando-2017 THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT. PLEASE FOLLOW THIS LINK FOR THE JUNE EVENT

We always ask, in a few words, how would you describe your boudoir session? "Empowering", "amazing", "Best time ever!", "So much fun!", "confident", "feel like you can do anything", "Oh my goddess!" is what we hear in the short form. But the best description we've heard is a bit longer

"I started off nervous because I've never done anything like this before. When I was younger, I was sexy, but now, I've started to see myself as just a plain mom who spends her days doing the same things over and over and my life revolves around my kids. I feel tired, rundown and bored but never sexy. Every layer of clothing that I peeled off in front of the camera was like peeling away a little bit of the everyday mundane me and revealing my sexy self again. At first, I was so scared that I thought I was going to throw up but it all goes away so fast and before I knew it I was in full supersexy, supermodel mode. I loved it! When do we get to go again?" -Lisa A

We are so happy to announce our annual beauty and boudoir marathon is happening in Orlando for one weekend only. We've booked a luxury hotel resort and you're invited to come be pampered with us on May 26, 27 and 28th. Follow this Link for a list of available days and times

This Session is Perfect For--couples, brides to be, women who need a boost, women who already got a boost and want to take advantage of it, milestone birthdays, women who have always wanted to do a boudoir session and didn't know where to start and finally, just...women. Boudoir sessions also make a great gift for anyone you might know that fits into one of those descriptions.

The Location

In the past we've shot at places like the Ritz Carlton, The Don Cesar, The Castle and a beautiful boutique hotel. We look for a location with separate rooms for shooting and for makeup and hair and an area to wait in and review photos. Sometimes we'll use adjoining rooms but it's ideal to have a suite and that's what we have this year. I always look for a place with at least one defining feature that puts it over the top and this place has more than one. My favorite is the large jacuzzi/tub in the room that's going to make for amazing photos. We also have a huge window to let in light and an amazing king sized bed with a glass and marble shower.

One thing we don't worry about when booking our location is the price. We just want it to be amazing!

Be-You-Tiful! Personalized Boudoir Sessions https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2017/1/a-be-you-tiful-valentines-special Hello and welcome! Unless you accidentally clicked this link instead of the one below it, "Dogs That Are Afraid of Cats", then you're here because you want to feel empowered, confident and beautiful with a boudoir session. If getting back in touch with your sexy, feminine side doesn't sound like something you'd want to do, I thank you for stopping by but this post isn't for you. I've been kind enough to place a link to the cat video above.

Have you ever been consumed in what you're doing and suddenly smelled a familiar aroma, even if just for a moment? Perhaps it was a stranger's cologne, a bit of salt air or a garden of flowers but definitely something that you recognize. Where did it take you? In most cases, it takes you to a moment in your life that was very happy. The scent gave us a memory of a time in which we felt safe, relaxed or in love.

Every week new artists are putting out some fantastic new music, yet you still love the songs and music from your youth. Why? Because they remind of a time when you didn't have a care in the world. You hear a song and remember the night of your wedding or the night you first fell in love. You're taken back to dancing all night with your best friends. You remember that second date with your significant other, gazing into each others eyes. You remember what you were wearing, where you went to eat afterward and how safe and secure you felt.

These things all make you smile because you remember days and nights that you didn't want to ever end. And since you remember them, they didn't really ever end, did they?

So how can I sit here and tell you that a boudoir session makes you more confident and makes you feel empowered? How can I say that you'll feel sexy and beautiful and that it can be life changing? I'm not stupid and neither are you. We both know that these feelings will be incredibly strong during your session and for a period of time afterward. But then life will happen and at some point, someone will do something to tear down your confidence. Someone will try to make you feel like you're not beautiful. You'll get baby puke on you and you sure as Hell won't feel sexy.

But as with certain other fantastic experiences, things will happen to evoke your memories. You'll smell makeup powder and be taken back to the time you spent with our hair and makeup professional, talking about life, being pampered and at the same time transformed.

You might taste a wine or a certain chocolate and then you're sitting in our chair, drinking our wine and eating our chocolate, reliving your session all over again.

You'll hear a camera click somewhere and think about the time that you were in front of our lenses posing like a supermodel.

But most of all, you'll see your photos and remember that you are indeed sexy and beautiful. You'll remember how you felt when you showed him for the first time. That confidence comes back. That bold femininity returns. Yep, you're back, baby!

That's how a boudoir session changes a life. These memories are why we do things. They're what defines us and makes us who we are. When's the last time you did anything FOR YOU? It's time to look in the mirror and see that you're sexy, unstoppable and fearless.

Why do I feel like I'm the best fit for your boudoir session?
When I started doing boudoir sessions I didn't know what I was doing. As a film school graduate, I understood the technical aspects of a camera and a basic idea of how the lighting should work but that's it. A session was, "okay, try this. Nope, that's not working, let's do this instead". We'd repeat it a few times and then just hope for the best. Flash forward over 100 sessions later--Now I've got invaluable experience of working with all types of body and personality types. I've also taken workshops from some of the biggest names in boudoir photography throughout the world and even went to New York for a lingerie workshop so that I can help clients that aren't as knowledgeable. I specialize in working with women and helping them look and feel their best. If you need a photographer that takes personal ownership in your images and wants you to be in love with them, then I'm your photographer.

As a matter-of-fact, I will guarantee that you love your results. In writing.

A Special Valentine's Day Package (not that kind of "package", get your mind out of the gutter)

  • $275 in-studio session
  • Hair and makeup professional.
  • Glass of red or white wine (not the cheap stuff)
  • All the Godiva or Lindt chocolate that you care to eat
  • 4 Wardrobe and set changes
  • In person or telephonic consultation to help personalize your session and answer any questions.
  • 6 magazine style edited photos delivered on a USB drive.
  • "Little Black Book" a small book of your edited images to keep or give as a gift.
  • In-person gallery proofing and selection
  • Options to purchase additional photo edits along with other gift ideas such as books, videos and ad space on the jumbo screen at Raymond James Stadium. (Just seeing who's still reading)
  • A $100 non-refundable retainer will be required to book your spot on the calendar.

If you're interested please contact me today and let's start this journey together. I have a limited availability for this offer and won't be able to book more than my schedule allows. My number is 813-409-1173 or you can email [email protected]

Thank you all and much love to you.

A No B.S. Guide To Hiring A Wedding Photographer On Any Budget https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2016/12/a-no-b-s-guide-to-hiring-a-wedding-photographer-on-any-budget Hiring a wedding photographer can be daunting challenge during the age in which everyone seems to be a photographer and they all want to do weddings. If you're trying to plan your wedding you'll find literally hundreds if not thousands of photographers in your area all fighting to do your wedding with no idea on how to choose between them.

Before we get started I want to touch on 3 points real quick:

  1. Reviews- While reviews on wedding sites can be useful, they aren't the be-all, end-all of choosing a photographer. Some photographers are extemely dilligent about asking for reviews from their clients and may even throw in a little extra for a good review. Other photographers don't want to pester their clients and never ask them to leave a review. That doesn't mean they don't have happy clients. They may even have happier clients since they aren't messaging them every 5 seconds to "rate me!!!".
  2. Photos on a website- Image theft is a very common in the industry and there are unfortunately photographers out there that take images from other photographers and use them in their own advertising as their own. There's an entire website dedicated to exposing these frauds but it's also important for you to be vigilant that the work you're seeing is an example of their own work. You may get a lot less than what you're paying for otherwise. This is how you can check for yourself if images have been stolen.
  3. Full Wedding Albums- Photographers are like anyone else and we're going to show our best work in our ads and on our website. We all know that the entire wedding isn't going to look like the gorgeous, stylized shots that we display to get attention though. Always ask to see at least one gallery from a full wedding. If you're having a church wedding and an indoor reception, ask to see examples of similar weddings. Likewise for beach weddings, park weddings, etc. It's important to look past how attractive or unattractive you feel that the couple is. What you're looking for are things like consistency in editing style, sharpness of photos. (in most cases you should be able to count eyelashes), style (to make sure it fits yours), how does the noise look in low-light situations?  Things like that. If you can imagine that you'd be happy if your photos look like these, then that's good. If you can't then simply move on. (please send a note letting them know)

Keep in mind that when I list a price, I'm coming from the point of view of my market which is Central Florida and places like Tampa and Orlando. Prices do vary around the country and may be higher or lower depending on where you live. Also, remember that there will always be an exception or two to what I'm posting below but overall, these are what you can expect.

Extreme Low Budget- Around $500
Low Budget- $500-1000
Mid-range- Packages prices that start between $1000-$2000 and go up from there.
High budget to No Budget- $Packages start at $5000 and go into the tens of thousands

Extreme Low Budget- Around $500

  • Experience Level- This is the domain of newer, inexperienced photographers that are charging very little because they're hoping to gain experience and build a portfolio. The price point is also where it's at because they simply can't charge what experienced photographers are going to charge. They're competing on price. New Photographers typically shoot with their cameras on an automatic setting and let the camera itself decide all the important settings like shutter speed, ISO and the aperture. These settings will work fine in ideal conditions but if we're talking about anything other than being outside on a well lit day, you're going to have issues. When looking at a portfolio you'll notice things like blurry and out of focus shots in low light, photos with couples standing under trees for shade but with light coming through the leaves leaving areas of dark shadows and bright highlights on their bodies and faces, boring, bland photos, etc.  Pro Tip: "Natural Light Photographer" sounds nice and all but is really just code for "Doesn't know how to use lighting". Not knowing how to use lighting can be crippling if conditions aren't perfect.
  • Equipment- Photographers at this price point are almost always using a consumer level DSLR with inexpensive lenses or the "kit lens" which is the lens that comes with the camera. Briefly. to the average consumer these cameras "look fancy" but they're not meant to be used professionally and they lack many of the qualities that produce high-end imagery. It should be noted that they can produce decent results in good lighting where the sensors don't have to be asked to do very much. But, if you're having a wedding indoors or in the evening then they will return images with lots of noise. Think of the look when you try to use your cell phone at night. The results will be very similar. They also rarely use any type of external lighting and often rely on the pop-up flash on the camera. This method is not pleasing to most people as it's a very harsh light and can cast large, ugly shadows behind the subjects.
    • Bodies in this range are the Canon Rebel series which usually begin with a "T". Examples are Canon T3i, T4i, T5i, T6, etc. Canon 60D, Canon 70D. For Nikon the models are D3000, 3100, etc. Basically, Nikon bodies with 4 digits are in this range.
    • PRO TIP: If a photographer doesn't want to tell you what they shoot with, avoid them. If they respond by telling you that "it's not the camera, it's the photographer", avoid them. The truth is that it's a combination of the two. The camera matters quite a bit and anyone who says otherwise simply hasn't learned what the limitations are for their current equipment.
  • Crew- Crews usually want to get paid so at this price point the photographer will usually be shooting alone or with a family member who's there to assist them.
  • Insured?- A photographer at this price point is usually not insured as this is just a side job for them and not their primary business or source of income. This could end up being a big deal as more and more venues are requiring insurance from their photographers. If you've already paid a retainer to a photographer and then can't use them, they're most likely not going to return the retainer.  Also, if there's any kind of issue from corrupt storage cards all the way to incompetence you're unlikely to receive compensation.
  • Editing Experience- Very low. This area can be especially scary when it comes to what you're going to receive. There's a likelihood that your images will lack continuity as the photographer simply browses actions (think Instagram Filters) from image to image as they try to make it look artistic in Lightroom or Photoshop. It's also not uncommon at this level for the Photographer to use less-featured editing programs.
  • Questions to Ask- How long have you been a photographer? How many weddings have you done? What kind of camera body and lenses do you use? (get model numbers and research them independently) Are you insured? Can I see a full wedding shot at a similar type of venue to mine? How many photos can I expect? (It's common at this level to receive thousands of photos because the photographer uses a method called, "spray and pray" which is taking as many shots as possible and hoping that some of them come out. This may sound like a great idea but not too many people love looking through thousands of crappy shots to find a few that are good.)
  • Who Should Book With This Photographer- Anyone who needs photos at their wedding and simply doesn't have the budget to go any higher. Some photos are better than no photos. Someone who understands that even the best photographers had to start out somewhere and is willing to risk it.
  • Who Should Not Book With This Photographer- Anyone who isn't willing to take the risk that their photos might suck. Anyone with an indoor venue or evening reception. Anyone who's venue requires insurance. Anyone with a friend that's similarly experienced and offers to shoot for free. Anyone who places a high value on their wedding photography and can afford a more experienced professional.

Low Budget- $500-1000

  • Experience Level- In this price range, you'll likely be working with a photographer that's shot a few weddings and has some work in their portfolio but is still building their business or has another job but is doing this on the side for a little bit of extra income.  Most photographers at this price point are still using automatic settings and let the camera itself decide all the important settings like shutter speed, ISO and aperture. These settings will work fine in ideal conditions but if we're talking about anything other than being outside on a well lit day, you're going to have issues.
They typically have a few other lenses that will help set them above the extreme low budget photographer but the lenses are still consumer level vs. Pro level which can be in the thousands of dollars. Some will use an external light attached to the top of their camera. This method is not pleasing to most people as it's a very harsh light and can cast large, ugly shadows behind the subjects. The better ones will know how to aim the light and hopefully use something to soften the light. Some photographers near the higher end of this price range may use low-end full-frame bodies which are much better than their crop sensor counterparts yet still don't have the features of the pro bodies and don't resolve quite as much detail. These bodies include the Canon 6D and the Nikon D610.
The camera matters and it matters quite a bit and anyone who says otherwise simply hasn't learned what the upward limit is for what they're using.
  • Editing Experience- Low. This area can be especially scary when it comes to what you're going to receive. There's a likelihood that your images will lack continuity as the photographer simply browses actions (think Instagram Filters) from image to image as they try to make it look artistic in Lightroom or Photoshop.
  • Who Should Book With This Photographer- Anyone who needs photos at their wedding and they aren't quite willing to risk it with the extreme low budget photographers. Value can be found at this price point under the right conditions. You should expect that you will have usable images.
  • Who Should Not Book With This Photographer- Anyone with an indoor venue or evening reception unless the photographer has upgraded their equipment. Anyone who's venue requires insurance. Anyone who needs very high-quality images and wants a very minimal risk.

Mid-range- Packages prices that start between $1000-$2000 and go up from there.

  • This is where my business currently sits. For more information about my weddings and packages please follow this link.
  • Experience Level- You should expect an experienced, professional photographer at this price point. A photographer at this price should have shot many weddings in many types of venues and conditions. They should be also be adept with off-camera lighting.
  • Equipment- Photographers at this price point should be using professional camera bodies and lenses and also carry a backup. Professional bodies should have 2 card memory slots being used as a redundancy so that if one card fails or is corrupt there's a backup so that nothing is lost. Professional bodies with high-end glass are able to handle low light conditions with clearer results. Keep in mind that all cameras produce noise at higher ISO settings, professional bodies are able to be used in much darker ambient light before the noise begins to become apparent. They also produce a higher quality of grain that doesn't always look bad. A camera that's able to be used in ambient light is best for receptions that have beautiful lighting at the venue and capturing light from windows and candles as well. Using a flash will drown out the ambient light and render it obsolete for the photo. Photographers in this price range should also have external lighting that's not on-camera. As an example, I will typically set up multiple studio lights at the reception that are triggered wirelessly and can be turned on and off from the camera itself. This allows a photographer to get a good mix of ambient light photos and also well-lit photos with less noise. When a photographer needs to be more mobile they may have an assistant or part of their crew holding flashes at better angles than one that's directly on the camera. Photographers in this range should understand how lighting works and be able to see the light before they take the photo. Some will have degrees in photography, film or a related medium.
    • Some bodies in this range include Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 5Dsr (more of a studio camera) Nikon D750, Nikon D810, Sony A7RII (only one SD card slot), Sony A99 II and Pentax K-1
    • PRO TIP: If a photographer doesn't want to tell you what they shoot with, avoid them. If they respond by telling you that "it's not the camera, it's the photographer", avoid them. The truth is that it's a combination of the two. The camera matters and it matters quite a bit and anyone who says otherwise simply hasn't learned what the limitations are for their current gear..
  • Crew- Will rarely work alone and will usually have at the very least an assistant with them. Depending on your package there may also be a second shooter as well as multiple assistants, video camera operators and people holding lights.
  • Insured?- A photographer at this price point should absolutely be insured. The Professional Photographers Association offers policies that cover up to $1,000,000 in damages and up to $2,000,000 per year. Not only do they carry the insurance but a photographer at this price should "insure" their self by carrying multiple cameras, multiple cards, tons of batteries and a backup for just about everything that they have. That way if a piece of equipment does malfunction they can simply pick up a new one and continue. Do not hire an uninsured photographer at this price point.
  • Editing Experience- Varies. I know that this sounds like a cop-out answer but it's the truth. I've seen a large variance of editing experience from photographers at almost every price point. Some photographers in this range have been editing for 20 years or more and others just started recently. It's important to talk about this during your interview and once again, as your reviewing work pay attention to the skin (on work that they did skin retouching). The skin should look natural and not like Tupperware just blurred out to hide wrinkles. Ideally, the viewer should not know that editing was done and should just be amazed and, "OMG! I want her skin!". When viewing full weddings, the editing style should be consistent throughout all of the photos. If they use a lot of different styles and effects then most likely the editing process is just "pick a filter and see how it looks" and not many people will be happy with that when viewed as a whole.
  • Questions to Ask- How long have you been a photographer? What are your specialties? (Many photographers specialize in just a few areas when they break out of Noobdom) How many weddings have you done? What kind of camera body and lenses do you use? (get model numbers and research them independently) Are you insured? Can I see a full wedding shot at a similar type of venue to mine? How many photos can I expect? (Photographers at this level should not be using the "spray and pray" method for your photos so you shouldn't get thousands of images. Additionally, a photographer at this price point should be collating your images before they do the editing so that you don't get 10 of the exact same photo. Bad photos should already be weeded out)
  • Who Should Book With This Photographer- Anyone who cares a great deal about the quality of their wedding photography and is willing to tilt their budget in favor of it. Anyone who isn't willing to take the risk with the less experienced photographers at the lower price points. Anyone who prefers a professional who has dealt with most situations that can happen during a wedding. Anyone who has an indoor venue with low or pretty ambient lighting. Even people with very small, short and intimate weddings may want to contact them. I know that if someone needs me for just a few hours, I often will quote an event price if I'm available which is significantly less expensive than a full wedding package. It doesn't offer the same frills and extras but it will still guarantee that you have high-quality images from your event.
  • Who Should Not Book With This Photographer- Anyone who cannot afford it or anyone who's looking for the absolute best of the best photographers and also has a nearly unlimited budget.

High budget to No Budget- $Packages start at $5000 and go into the tens of thousands

  • Experience Level- Photographers at this price point are typically famous, or at least locally famous. They can charge high amounts of money because they're in such high demand. They frequently travel the world for weddings and also spend their time as educators. Some of the more known names are people like Jerry Ghionis, Ben Chrisman, Sal Cincotta and Chris plus Lynn
  • Equipment- Photographers in this price range should be using professional bodies and lenses. Most of the photographers in this range are sponsored by different equipment manufacturers as ambassadors in varying degrees. They will usually have any lighting equipment on hand that's needed and know exactly how to use it.
    • Some of the bodies in this range are Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 1DX, Canon 5Dsr (more of a studio camera), Nikon D810, Nikon D4 and Nikon D5. There are more expensive cameras out there but these tend to be the best all-around performers for all situations.
    • PRO TIP: If a photographer doesn't want to tell you what they shoot with, avoid them. If they respond by telling you that "it's not the camera, it's the photographer", avoid them. The truth is that it's a combination of the two. The camera matters and it matters quite a bit and anyone who says otherwise simply hasn't learned what the upward limit is for what they're using.
  • Crew- Will usually have one or two assistants, a second shooter and one or two people handling lights.
  • Insured?- Uhhh...yes!
  • Editing Experience- A photographer at this price point will typically have a professional editor or two on their staff.
  • Who Should Book With This Photographer- Anyone who can afford it and wants that insanely incredible experience. Also, there's a certain amount of bragging rights that come with booking a photographer that's famous.
  • Who Should Not Book With This Photographer- Anyone who can't afford it.

Halloween 2016 https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2016/10/halloween-2016 I had the wonderful and beautiful, Jessie in the studio the other day and while she was here we shot some photos specifically with the idea of using them for Halloween. They're not the soft, pretty photos that we usually make but that's kind of the point this time. I hope you enjoy our work.

It's Time to Stop Calling Our Friends Morons; Unite or Die https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2016/10/its-time-to-stop-calling-our-friends-morons-it-s-time-to-unite-or-die "United we stand, divided we fall". -The Liberty Song
"and if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. -Jesus of Nazareth.
"A new commandment I give to you. Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other". -Jesus of Nazareth (I would go on to narrarate that he's talking about your fellow human, not just people who are like you".
"We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided". "J.K. Rowling
"Do not call your friends a moron, you fucking assclown". K. Colasacco

Do you know what a phalanx is? If you've seen the movie 300 or been in the military then you know exactly what I'm talking about. But very quickly for those who still aren't sure it's when a group of soldiers or people move together as one unit in a tight formation. A phalanx formation can easily win against a much larger opposition because they stay together when their foes split apart.

So how United are we?

"All Trump supporters are stupid and never graduated from college"

  • Trump supporter number 1 is a math teacher with a degree from a 4-year college and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I have total respect for her.
  • Trump supporter number 2 is a dear friend of mine that I knew before my age even had the word "teen" as a suffix. 4 years ago, when I was leaving one house I was renting and hadn't found another one yet, she invited me to live in her home with her son and her husband for over a month and a half while I found a new place. I was treated as part of her family and never was I asked to pay any kind of rent or "owe them a favor".
  • Trump supporter number 3 is one of the nicest girls you'll ever meet and a model that I commonly work with. She's non-judgmental of everyone and very smart.
  • Trump supporter number 4 and 5 are two of the nicest people in a small town of a few thousand people. They run a roofing and construction company that gives away a free roof every single year to a needy family in the area.
  • Trump supporter number 6 is a dentist with a list of degrees that will make most of the people calling "Trump supporters stupid" look very foolish in comparison. He routinely donates his time and services to the poor who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford a dentist, much less one of his caliber. He has done free dental work for me and is one of the most sincere and humble people that you'll ever meet. If you want to call him stupid, you better have some top-notch credentials.
  • Trump supporters 7 and 8 are successful business owners who built everything that they have from literally nothing. They lived in a van at the Zephyrhills parachute center and now operate one of the more successful franchises in the area. No, they didn't buy a franchise, they started one from nothing. And then another. And another....
  • Trump supporters are some of my best clients
  • Trump supporters are some of my best friends
  • Trump supporters went to a devout Christian college with me.
  • Trump supporters went to art school with me.
  • Trump supporters are some of the best people I know.
  • Trump supporters are American, just like you and they want what's best for all of us.

The problem is that when we see Trump supporters on TV or in the news, we're seeing the lowest common denominator. We're seeing the hillybilly that can barely write and uses circular reasoning to define why they like him so much. We see the racists. We're shown the lowest of the low. We're shown the sensationalists that make for better TV.  We do not see my friends. Because they're normal. They're smart and they're not exciting and they don't serve the point.

"All Hillary supporters need to wake up. Most of them don't even have jobs and are lazy".

  • I know more Hillary supporters so I may not do a person-by-person review of each of them.
  • I have friends that support Hillary that are teachers at every level of education including colleges and an Ivy League University
  • I have friends that support Hillary that are doctors, lawyers, artists, business owners and CEO's.
  • I have friends that support Hillary that run charities and others that are very charitable with their time and their money.
  • Hillary supporters are some of my best clients
  • Hillary supporters are some of my best friends
  • Hillary supporters went to a devout Christian College with me.
  • Hillary supporters also went to art school with me
  • Hillary supporters are some of the best people I know
  • Hillary supporters are American, just like you and they want what's best for all of us.

The problem is that when we see Hillary supporters on TV or in the news and alt-right websites, we're seeing the lowest common denominator. We're seeing the ones  that can barely write and do choose to live off of the government. We're shown the lowest of the low. We're shown the sensationalists that make for better TV. We do not see my friends. Because they're normal. They're smart and they're not exciting and they don't serve the point.

Soon, this election will end and little will change with the way our country goes about its business regardless of who wins (Please watch the video posted above about what the President actually does compared to what people think he does, seriously watch it. It's a few minutes long and is a quick refresher on American government) but your friends will still be here and so will those in the community in which you've lived.  These are the people that you liked and loved before the words "Trump and Clinton" were ever spoken. These are the members of your community. These are the people that will make a bigger difference in your quality of life than the POTUS ever will. These are the people that you should not be calling names or derogatory phrases. These are the people which only a moron would alienate.

Take a moment to reflect on all of the friends you have especially the ones that are different from you. You probably know someone who's voting for the other side. You probably have a great friend that's not the same sexual orientation. You probably have a friend or know people that are "so nice" that are other religions including Muslim and Islam. You probably know very smart, hardworking people of other races that you respect. Think about those people for a minute. Think about the words that we say and how they can hurt them. Do we really want it to be this way? Does this make anyone feel good?  It doesn't make me feel good.

I been mostly staying off of Facebook a lot these days because I see so much hateful rhetoric going on between both sides and it really makes me want to smack every one of you with my long and powerful pimp hand. Trust me when I say, my pimp hand is strong but it's also attached to an arm that's attached to a shoulder that's attached to a chest that houses a heart full of love.

Who we elect as the next President probably won't be the end of the U.S. as we know it. That's sensationalism. But our divided nation could be. History has taught us that.

Plus, if I hear you calling any of my friends any of those names we're going to have a problem. I'm little and I don't fight fair. Don't mess with my friends.

Special Holiday Boudoir Session Pricing and Packages https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2016/10/special-holiday-boudoir-session-pricing-and-packages

Want to give him a gift that he'll never forget? Want to give yourself a gift that will boost your self-confidence? Want to be a princess for a day?  Want a gift that you'll never forget?  Boudoir sessions with Kristian Colasacco Art & Photography in Wesley Chapel, FL could be exactly what you're looking for.

About Us and About Your Session
We invite you to come and relax in our wardrobe room with some chocolates and a glass of wine. Enjoy the moment as you're turned into a whole new you by our in-house, professionally licensed hair and makeup professionals. We are a full-service studio and we specialize in working with women. We put hundreds of hours each year into training because we want you to be proud of the what we deliver. As a film school student and working professional we use knowledge of cameras, lighting, advanced cinematic techniques and artistic composition to help deliver eye-popping results that you'll always remember. We work with women of all ages, body shapes and levels of shyness.

Our boudoir sessions don't mean you have to wear your most revealing lingerie. We want you to wear whatever makes you feel awesome and sexy whether that's a sweater, his button-down shirt, lingerie from Agent Provocateur or simply nothing at all. And just because it's a Christmas gift doesn't mean that you have to stick to the holiday theme. Each session is customized to every individuals taste.

We don't just deliver some pictures, we stop time. We create a legacy. We can significantly change your life when you see that you are beautiful even though you haven't felt that way before.

Editing Philosophy
Most photographers edit your photos by using things called "actions" which are a lot like Instagram filters but actions only do an okay job because they're kind of a "push a button and hope" solution. We've been using Adobe Photoshop for 20 years and are Certified Professionals. We use manual techniques on each individual photo that give you a better result. Our goal isn't to make you unrecognizable to anyone seeing your photo (unless that's what you ask for). Our goal is to make you look incredible without anyone being able to tell that Photoshop was used. We might remove an inch here and add a cup size there. We clean your skin and remove the blemishes but we leave behind your texture so your skin just looks like great skin that's the envy of everyone who sees it. BUT IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE TUPPERWARE.

50 Shades Stylized Boudoir Session https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2016/4/50-shades-stylized-boudoir-session There are a couple of Universal truths about a Tampa boudoir photo session with Kristian Colasacco Art & Photography including the fact that they're always fun but one thing they're not is always the same. Some clients want a pin-up look, other times we'll shoot lots of softness in a pastel or light colored set. Sometimes we venture outside and other times our client wants to go a little bit darker.

We hope you enjoy this story and when you feel like blurring the lines between color and all those grays, you'll give us a call.

Metallic Body Paint Session https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2016/2/metallic-body-paint-session Words- I don't want to write a lot of them because I know that 95% of the people who end up on this page are going to skip right past them and head straight to the pictures anyway...so what's the point? I guess Search Engine Optimization is the only reason to put them here. So with that said, here's a fantastic set of nude, metallic body paint photos by Kristian Colasacco Art & Photography. A Tampa Boudoir Photography Studio located in Wesley Chapel, FL.

At least I'm transparent.

In all seriousness, I hope you enjoy our photos. These were done purely for the sake of art and creating something beautiful.

Black Tape Project: How To, A Little History and Pictures! https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2015/10/black-tape-project-how-to-a-little-history-and-pictures When I first heard about The Black Tape Project it was supposed to be an event and series to help with Breast Cancer Awareness. The event itself was just a way for people to go to clubs and see hot girls standing around naked while being wrapped in tape. To me, it didn't really make sense that it was to raise awareness at all. The events themselves actually donated a portion of the moneys raised toward the BCA movement though.

So even though it's not a direct way to raise awareness, I still think that it's very cool and a great way to accent the curves on a body while still (barely) covering them. A definite draw for many men and women. After a few years of talking about it with Heather (the model in the pictures) we finally got together this week and finished our first (of probably multiple) shoot. Here's what I learned:

  • The tape is important. Use electrical tape. It goes on easily and more importantly it comes off easily without leaving marks. It didn't hurt the model at all and after it was off it was like it was never there. Other tapes will either not stick well or they can cause injuries to the client or model. At the very least you can leave behind red marks and indentions on the skin.
  • Make sure your model's skin is dry. Don't use any oils or lotions beforehand or your tape won't stick
  • Have a plan going in on what you want the design to look like. You cannot simply "wing it" and expect to have something resembling a useful outfit.
  • "Clothing" your model is going to be an extremely up-close and personal situation. Both of you need to be very comfortable with everything or she needs to have a friend or family member there to assist. Discuss the logistics in advance to avoid that awkwardness later.
  • Your model will have to rely on others to get her ready. Once you start applying tape she needs to move as minimally as possible. Bending and stretching will change the tape and cause gaps and loose spots to appear.
  • Know your poses in advance. Once you're ready to start, you should be able to move quickly and get through your set before the tape starts to distort or come off.
  • Basically, this entire shoot is all about preparation. Prepare to succeed or prepare to fail.

Here are a few of the shots that we got from our recent session. The models' name is Heather and a few more photos of her can be found here from our Breast Cancer Awareness Project in 2014.

P.S. I still have tape. Who's next?

How to Succeed in Photography, Business and Life https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2015/9/how-to-succeed-in-business-and-life I have a lot to be thankful for.

  • A beat up, old car that I don't have faith to drive more than a few minutes from my house.
  • 2 chipped teeth that have needed work for a couple of years but I still can't afford to fix.
  • My chipped teeth directly affect my confidence and have probably cost me a job or two. â€‹
  • I fail more than I succeed. A lot more.

So why did I start off with that bit of depressing information? Because I want for people to understand exactly where I'm coming from and how I got to where I am now.

I first started my photography business in April of 2010. I had been living and working in Atlanta for a few years when suddenly everything turned bad for me. I lost my job that I liked (kinda, but it paid well). I put down a first months rent and security deposit for a house to move into that I found out was a scam at the moment that I pulled into the driveway with all my stuff. I had no place to live so I made a few phone calls and found out that my friend Jini was looking for a roommate. The problem was that I just spent almost all of my money on a house that I never got into. She let me in anyway and I used my unemployment to get caught up with her and pay rent for a few months while I got reacquainted with the area.

I already had experience in film and photography and really wanted to do that as a way to make money down here because it's what I loved. BUT I couldn't afford equipment

In April I got my tax refund and used that money to buy my first DSLR and a decent lens. Not a good lens but something better than the kit lens and started taking photos. Eventually Jini moved to Boston and I had to find another place to live. That was stressful but I found something.

That something turned out to be a trailer that I shared with 3 other guys that had all just graduated from high school along with one of their girlfriends. My share of the rent was about $200 a month. I was an adult with a masters degree sharing a trailer with 4 kids all under the age of 21. Why? Why would I do that?  The answer is simple. I was building my business and it's all I could afford.

Sometimes I couldn't even afford that. You see, I was doing so many jobs at $40 or $50. I was doing them for free but I didn't want to do the work that you'd expect from a $40-50 photographer (though looking back I'm not happy with much of it) I was working 80 hours a week and usually struggling to the very last day of the month just to pay my bills. But every month I did and every month I resisted the urge to just give up. At any point I could have gone and picked up, "just a job" but made enough money to be comfortable.

And that's where I'd be right now and this blog wouldn't exist. None of the beautiful photos that I've created over the years would exist. I wouldn't have worked on an important Breast Cancer Awareness project last year. I wouldn't have sat and watched my clients literally gasp when they see a shot of themselves for the first time. I wouldn't be joyful and I wouldn't be happy. My purpose would not be being fulfilled.

Now as my business is growing and my rates have steadily increased Im looking forward to moving into a new place next year with 3-4,000 square feet of studio space for me to shoot in and create beauty. I still have chipped teeth. I still need a new car. I still don't spend much on myself.

I put every dollar that I get back into my business. I have the best equipment around. I take expensive workshops. I spend money on the studio and on wardrobe. I spend money on advertising and I spend time working with models to use for advertising and doing free work for charities and community entities simply because it makes me feel good. In 2016 I also plan to get my dental work finished (finally!) but I still may continue to rent cars when I need one.

I literally have no money but I'm building something and one day I expect to get the rewards from the hard work and the sacrifice.

I'm not as impressed by guys like Donald Trump that inherit millions and build it into billions quite the same way that I'm inspired by the story of the guy earned a dollar and then earned another dollar saved it, invested in something he loved and turned it into a life. To me, that's impressive because that's what I'm trying to do.

Do you have that drive? If you want to build your own business you're going to need it. There will be times when you don't know if you're going to be able to eat. There will be times when you realize that you're killing yourself basically for free. There will be times when you ask yourself if it's worth it and for a lot of people, it's not and for others it is. Are you willing to wake up at 6AM and not stop working until 10 that night? 10 days in a row? Are you willing to not see your friends? To have no social life? That's reality for the first few years.

Photography, is more than just getting a camera and a Facebook page.

You're going to fail. I've failed on so many things that I've tried to do. I've failed on projects that I really wanted to do but that just didn't work out. If you're afraid of failing you're never going to succeed at anything meaningful. You always see my successes but you don't see the fails. That's how I learn and without it I wouldn't have ever created the underwater photography, the beautiful boudoir, the senior walking out of the smoke from a plane in his cap and gown. I fail but I don't fear it. I welcome it. I learn from it!

Being good at business just isn't enough. You have to bleed for it or you're just not going to make it.

Unless someone is giving you things, you have to work hard. You have to sacrifice or you won't succeed. That's true for business and that's true for life. And when you do succeed, I want you to be thankful, thankful for the things you have and even more thankful for the things you don't have but drive you. I also want you to relay your story so that others can be inspired.

Much <3 and thank you for reading.

Creative Movement Series Part I; Megan https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2015/9/creative-movement-series-part-i-megan There are a lot of different ways to be an artist but to me, none are more beautiful than dance and the creative ways that a body moves. That's why I love working with dancers and some of my all-time favorite photos are of dancers or even just of regular people dancing.

Over the course of the next year I'm going to be working on an entire series of dance that will ultimately culminate into a book that I hope everyone will be able to enjoy. We're going to feature all types of creative movement and all types of shots. Some will be fine art nudes like this set and others will be dancers in outrageous outfits. Some will be with props and poles. Others on the water and even under the water. Some will be experienced, accomplished dancers and others will be people who don't even know how to count. In other words, there will be variety and I'm excited to see what happens.

This set is a fine-art nude set with Megan and it may not be safe for work. She started dancing at the age of 5 in Zephyrhills, FL before moving to North Carolina for a few years and then moving back. Her favorite type of dance is ballet and she was excited to get the chance to do this shoot. Even after a few years, if the slipper fits, then wear it.

Thank you for visiting. I will need dancers in a variety of styles. Please message me if you want to be involved. Include a few notes about what kind of dance you like, your experience, a few unretouched photos and whether or not you are willing to shoot fine art nudes which will increase your odds of being selected. While I'm shooting a lot of non-nudes in this series, I do know a lot of dancers already that can do those shoots but finding someone comfortable doing shots like you see in this set is more difficult.

For Those Interested in Modeling for Us! https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2015/9/for-those-interested-in-modeling-for-us We are always looking for new models to work with for both personal projects and that we can feature in blog posts and advertising. As a studio and artist that specializes primarily in boudoir and glamor photography, I have very specific criteria that I look for when selecting models for projects. Please be sure to read through our short post entirely before submitting to us because that saves both your time and mine.

  • Models must be comfortable being nude or partially nude on set.  60-70 percent of my client base is boudoir, glamor and fine art nude so I need work that can be shown both as advertisements and in one-on-one consultations. For all of our other services, I can advertise and display client photos or reach out directly to my friends. However, most boudoir clients expect and receive privacy and discretion when it comes to their photos and sessions. In turn, we provide a few things to help make our models feel comfortable while they're here. We provide a private wardrobe/makeup and dressing room as well as robes that can be worn on set. We also give our models some discretion and set an expectation of what shots will be shown and where. We also never tag models in our photos online but allow them to do so if they wish.
  • MUST BE OVER 18. No, your mom cannot sign a waiver.
  • EXPERIENCE IS NOT NECESSARY!!! I'm not necessarily looking for experienced or even the hottest models out there. I look for someone who appeals to my clients. For fine-art nude sessions and personal projects, I may have slightly different criteria. Basically, I'm looking for a variety of looks and experience levels.
  • Must be comfortable in front of a camera and have a general idea of how you look when you pose.
  • Compensation is photos for your portfolio and experience. My sessions are fairly pricey and I feel as if this is a fair trade. You'll receive digital images from your session and valuable experience. You can use the images to accelerate your career or just to have something awesome to look at.

I am currently seeking models as listed below A Pinterest link is provided as a mood board to other shots that have a similar feel though we will still be doing it our own way and making it our own so don't expect an exact copy. Expect better!

  • Dance series- Many types- I'm doing a series on dance and have different requirements across the board. If you have a certain style and want to set something up please message me. Not all of this series is nude. In some cases, we want to shot the beauty and design of the human form but in others, we may want to show the colors and styles of dress that help define certain genres.
  • Erotic- Boudoir but kicked up a notch or two.
  • Same Sex Couples Boudoir- Attractive, female couple in excellent shape. On set nudity and interaction is required in this shoot. Note: We are not shooting porn but we are shooting hot and steamy. We're depicting intimacy.
  • Boudoir promotional video- Should be comfortable in a boudoir shoot.
  • Cosplay boudoir- A sexy boudoir shoot but while in character. Possibly even couples shoot between characters. Pinterest

If you are interested, please email me and tell me a little bit about yourself and include at least 2-3 photos one of which should be a headshot without any kind of skin corrections on it from an app and a 3/4 or full-length photo with the same criteria. They don't need to be professional but should be well lit so that I can see you. Also, please indicate what you might be interested in shooting and that you've read and are comfortable with our requirements/criteria.

Glamour Boudoir with Mandy https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2015/9/glamour-boudoir-with-mandy The "boudoir" (French for "bedroom) label for photography has become so all-encompassing lately that it really expands past the bedroom when most people think about the term. I've always distinguished between boudoir and glamour personally but as the term expands we all have to adapt. But for those wondering, and in general terms, if there's a bed or bedroom, that's boudoir. For everything else that's purely sexy, hot, fine art nude, etc. it's probably glamour. I'm not going any deeper in this post because that's not really what this story is about.

This is a story about Mandy and her boudoir/glamour session. When we consulted she had a lot of artistic and edgy photos with dramatic lighting in the photos she showed me so I wanted to be sure that we incorporated a lot of that into our work. We wanted to avoid a lot of color and instead focus on contrasty monotones and when we did do color, we limited the colors to only one. So we have a set with only a splash of red and a set that's just pink and white. I think we did a great job of capturing her grace and beauty while allowing her soul to shine through. Photography is an art that tells a story, I hope you enjoy hers.

If you can't wait to get into the studio, outside on the beach or any other location contact information is at the bottom of the post. I can't wait to work with you.

All of the photos below this line are beautiful but not all are safe for work. You've been warned.

The next set was done in the rain and though I hate to shatter illusions, we do this in-studio so that the conditions can be controlled and it's repeatable for all of my clients. And even though Mandy signed a model release, there are a few that she felt were too explicit to show on the blog and I agreed. They'll only ever see the light during client consultations. I like to think of it as an exclusive.

And now for a splash of color

Thank you as always for stopping by. If you're interested in finding out more information about being your own object of beauty and having it immortalized forever you can contact me at 813-409-1173 or email by following this link. Much <3

Model Needed with Ballet, Pointe and Modern Dance Experience ***READ BEFORE REPLYING PLEASE*** https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2015/8/model-needed-with-ballet-pointe-and-modern-dance-experience-read-before-replying-please SYNOPSIS
I'm looking for a few models for a Fine Art Nude Series that I want to work on that showcases and highlights the beautiful artistry of dance and the most natural state of the human form. The mood board for the series can be found by viewing the photos of the dancers (first few photos on the board) on my Pinterest page at the following link which will open in a new window: https://www.pinterest.com/kcolasacco/creative-boudoir/ . We won't be copying it exactly but this is very similar to the style and overall product that I want for us to create.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Where: In-Studio in Wesley Chapel
When: September 5th or 6th to work with your schedule
How Many: To start off with, I'm looking for one model, perhaps two. I may shoot more in this set a few months from now depending on the turnout and response
Compensation: I feel like it's very important to treat models well. For this collaboration the models will receive digital versions of the final edited photos that can be used for portfolios or just for personal use to keep and know you did something amazing. I will also shoot an additional set for the model of anything that they choose. It can be boudoir, glamour, something for modeling or even a headshot and give that to them as well.

REQUIREMENTS (MUST READ)

  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Must have dance experience in ballet and pointe with the ability to perform.
  • Must be comfortable with tasteful and artistic nudity while on the set and in the finished product.
  • Must be reliable. I need to know that once you say you are going to be here that you will be here.

HOW TO APPLY
Please send an email to [email protected] explaining that you have read and understand the requirements of the shoot and that you want to do it. Please provide at least two photos of yourself which haven't been retouched or blurred by filters or an app. I need one well-lit headshot and one full-length or 3/4 shot. These do not need to be professional and can even be selfies. They should also be recent. Please let me know a little about your dancing experience.  Modeling experience isn't necessary on a shoot like this as your dance experience will carry you.

Also, I've had some people tell me that my email replies go to their spam or junk folder sometimes. If more than a few hours have gone by and you haven't heard from me, please check that folder or message me through my business page on Facebook to check on it. I'm good at replying and at least acknowledging receipt.

Thanks,
Kristian Colasacco

The Boudoir Experience and Behind the Scenes https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2015/8/the-full-bridal-boudoir-experience My goal in shooting boudoir photography has always been to give my clients two gifts that they can't get anywhere else:
Photos that are as beautiful or more beautiful than you were when you walked through that door and the highest quality products for women who want and deserve the finest.

But an even bigger goal is to give an experience that's unique and makes you feel awesome, like a woman. From the moment you arrive in the studio you're treated like a star. As the talent the first thing that we do when you arrive is escort you to the wardrobe room where our hair and makeup professional will be waiting to greet you. We'll take a look at your wardrobe and make some decisions about your first set and what to wear (or in some cases, not wear). Then I leave you alone with Godiva chocolate and a bottle of wine as you are transformed.

After your session we schedule a day for you to come back in and look at your proofs with us. The reason that we wait is because I take a little bit of time to prepare them for you. During this time, I completely remove any photos that you may not want to see, photos that were taken while testing lights, or that didn't come out correctly due to photographer error like out of focus shots for example. We want you to have high confidence and that's why we only show you shots that you're going to like.  Once I have those shots selected, I go through and do some very light editing. I'll quickly retouch areas that may need to be and soften the skin a little.

We'll select the photos that you want to for me to edit and discuss final products including book layouts and prints if any have been ordered. Finally, within a few weeks, your products arrive discreetly either at your door or back here at the studio for you to pick up.

So instead of telling you how a session goes, I want to show you. Here are a few shots and a video from a recent Bridal Boudoir Session with Kara Lee that you're sure to love.

Thank you for visiting. You can check out the full gallery by clicking this link.

Byron, Lacy and a Bunch of Little Jones' Have Fun at Disney https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2015/8/byron-lacy-and-a-bunch-of-little-jones-have-fun-at-disney One of my favorite portrait sessions that we offer, "off the menu" is on-location at any of the Disney parks or at Universal Studios. They're a lot of work, a long day and I can't bring any external lighting other than a speedlight but they're always fun because I'm with people in their happy place.

So when my friends from back in my Lee University days messaged me and asked if I would meet them there for a session I was thrilled. Florida was in the middle of the worst continuous drenching that I can remember ever happening here. It had rained for 8 or 9 days straight on the day we were to have our session and every road in my area was flooded. But, we kept our phalanges intertwined and somehow had a nice day even though it was mostly cloudy (I swapped skies in a few shots)

Here are a few of the fun moments with a gallery at the end. We were at the park from about 10:30 until roughly 4:00.

A fine display of creative movement. This is why you don't take dance lessons from Elaine Benes.
The next two photos were taken by Tally with my help only supporting the camera. The first one she calls "art".

The Teacups bring out the competitive side of the family.
First time on Space Mountain for Tristan
And he loved it!
Thank you again to Bryon, Lacy, Tally, Tenly, Tripp and and Tristan for a great day. I hope that your visit to Orlando was magical!

Name Your Price Boudoir Sessions Are Back! But Very Limited! https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2015/2/limited-time-and-space-name-your-price-boudoir-sessions Early this year we ran a "Name Your Price Boudoir Session" that turned out to be extremely popular. We ran it for a full month and took in over a dozen clients who loved the idea. By popular request I'm bringing it back for 2 weeks only.  The first week will be run from August 15-22 and the second week will run from September 11-19. Your session must take place during one of these two weeks. Also, I'm only taking 3 clients during each week so once that week is full, it's full.

My Philosophy
I believe that every woman has a unique quality that makes them beautiful and feminine and I want you to have an opportunity to celebrate you with a safe, comfortable studio experience that is free from judgements and allows you be shameless, fearless, sexy, beautiful and just plain fun. That's what I offer my clients.  A Kristian Colasacco Art & Photography session helps instill a new level of confidence and freedom to a woman. It's a retraining of the brain that say's, "I'm much more than a soccer mom, an underappreciated wife, the random lady at Target that nobody looks at...".  Now the brain say's, "Look at me! I can look like that! I can feel like that!  I am that woman!" and that's one hell of a feeling.  Women want this, they come to me and say that they NEED this but that something is stopping them.

For a month we're taking away one of the those things...MONEY!

For one week in August and one week in September, I'm offering Name Your Own Price Boudoir and Glamour Sessions to up to 3 women per week with no catch.  Just email me with your information about what you're looking for in a session along with what you want to pay.  No reasonable offer will be refused.

Some things to keep in mind when deciding what you want from your session: I require a professional makeup artist for your session and highly recommend a hair professional as well.  If you have someone that you prefer, we can use them or I can hire from my team and have them come to the studio. I've included my normal base package below to give you ideas on what you might want. You can also ask for the base package and name your price for that if you like.

The base cost for my package during normal pricing is $350 and it includes the following:

  • Professional Makeup artist at the studio
  • 2-3 hour session
  • 3-5 changes of wardrobe and set
  • In-studio consultation where we discuss all of the details.
  • In-studio proof session
  • Private, password protected gallery
  • Beauty magazine style edits. Completely smooth skin that still retains texture and therefore looks like skin, not tupperware. Teeth whitening, removal of cellulite and stretch marks, brightened eyes, subtle changes to body shape.  When I say subtle, I mean that I reshape to make you look your most flattering. We like to make sure that your photos are still recognizable to you and we don't ever want someone to say, "oh Photoshop".
  • 10 edited digital copies of your photos

Add-ons include:

  • Hair Professional at the studio
  • Additional edited photos from your session as singles or in additional packages of 12
  • Luxury Photo Books with 20-24 photos from your session
  • Boutique boxes of prints
  • Large Prints and canvasses

A few more things:

  • Space will be limited to only 3 women for each week
  • You can get girlfriends together and do it on the same day
  • You will get the same awesome experience no matter what you pay. You get the chocolates in the wardrobe room. You get the complimentary glass of wine. You get the same effort from me throughout the whole process. Nothing is different except what you pay.
  • A non-refundable retainer of $100 minimum is required to retain the day and time of your session. A session is not booked until a retainer is paid.
  • I accept checks, credit cards and cash as payment. A payment request can be emailed to you for convenience and is payable by credit card using Square.

Breast Cancer Awareness Artistic Photoshoot https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2014/10/breast-cancer-awareness-artistic-photoshoot The Facts

  • Breast Cancer is the most common cancer amongst American women
  • Second leading cause of cancer deaths for women
  • Approximately 1 in every 8 women will develop breast cancer during their lifetimes.
  • Since 1990 Breast Cancer rates and Breast Cancer deaths have been steadily declining
  • Breast Cancer is expensive. Breast Cancer costs anywhere between $50,000 and $100,000 while the median U.S. income is $49,000.  43% of American women skip treatment and prescriptions because they can't afford it.
  • Women are freaking awesome, they bring joy, love and life into this world. Something that so profoundly affects our women affects us all. Without them we lose our joy, our love, our lives and most importantly, we lose our awesome.

A little background about this project

For a few years I've wanted to get involved in the awareness campaign but didn't have something that was different from what other photographers and artists were already doing. I wanted to do something that got the community involved and helped show the unity that all women and their male counterparts share.

I opened up this project to everyone that cares.  Some of the participants are cancer survivors, some are going through treatments right now and some are women that wanted to show that they're together, strong and supportive.

My goal was to create artwork using the female form as a canvas. I wanted it to be simple, yet profound and also beautiful.

To Purchase Prints or a Calendar
Prints from this shoot are available as single prints or as a custom made calendar. Single prints can be purchased by following this link and 2015 calendars can be ordered for $50 by contacting me through email or by calling 813-400-3063.  100% of all profits will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for their use to continue researching, raising awareness and fighting breast cancer.

The Future of this Series

This is a project that was so personally satisfying for me and hopefully many others that I definitely plan to continue it annually. My hope is that people will see what we've done here this year and NEED to be involved next year. I've already got some ideas turning in my head. They're going to be big and it's going to be something that nobody's ever seen before.

Models and Artists Needed for Breast Cancer Awareness Calendar Shoot https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2014/6/models-and-artists-needed-for-breast-cancer-awareness-calendar-shoot This year Kristian Colasacco Art & Photography is doing an artistic calendar with 100% of the profits being donated to charities to benefit cancer research and awareness.  I've held off from doing this project in the past because I didn't have a concept that I felt was original enough and good enough to represent both my brand and also be impactful to the cause.  But now, I'm very excited to be able to move forward toward telling the story of you.  We'll also be doing some video and audio interviews for anyone who'd like to be able to tell their story.

The Concept
The overall concept is to use handmade (or computer art) from real people who would like to contribute their designs toward the project. It can be whatever you want as long as it's cancer related including the abstract.  Work needs to be PG-13, anything obscene will not be accepted but can otherwise be whatever you feel.  Any medium is okay including photography, painting, computer graphics, etc.  Each submission will be required to sign a release form allowing for the use of their copyrighted materials for use and promotion of this project but the copyright owner will otherwise keep all ownership of their art.

Models will need to be nude in the photos but the final photos will not show anything that would keep the calendar or the photos from being able to be shown to anyone.  We use a variety of techniques from posing, to creative use of shadows and design to ensure that we have usable photos.  Your privacy will be protected and no photos will be used without a signed release from the model.

Also, you do not need to be a cancer survivor in order to participate.  Everyone is eligible and we'd love to have a great mix of survivors as well as people who want to raise awareness united together.

Why nude?
Because of the style that the calendar is being shot in and to provide a consistent look for each part of the series.  The story that we are telling is one of strength, courage and pride and we want our models to exhibit those qualities.  Poses will be similar to those found in the ESPN The Body Issue and won't be anything that a person would be ashamed for anyone else to see. You can see examples at this link.  Click Here

I do not care about your body type, age (although you must be over 18) or any other factors, if you want to be involved you will be and I expect to have a wide variety of people.  But know this, I am an expert at posing modern women and will make sure that you look great.  It's what I do. Most women, even people who come in shy or unsure about themselves feel very empowered after a session.

Models will have items to pose with as well if they desire.  You can bring your own props and we'll also have a few on hand to choose from.  We also use fabrics to help add to the overall look.

When will we shoot?
August 24th beginning at 1 PM at the GFWC Dade City Woman's Club- 37922 Palm Avenue, Dade City, FL.  Once you're there, your total time should be right around 30 minutes or so.  Some will be shorter, others will take longer.  That includes time spent in makeup and hair as well as the shoot itself.

How will the calendar be setup?
This is what I actually think is very cool.  Each person who orders a calendar will be able to go through the gallery and have their calendar custom built using the photos that they want to use and ignoring the ones that they don't like.  The whole process is done online.  Also, for those who are very shy but really feel a strong desire to be a part of this project, you can request that your photos remain private and not be published with the rest of the gallery although, I strongly encourage you to make them public.

I'd like to show a few examples of what the concept looks like when actually produced.  These photos were not done with the Breast Cancer Awareness theme in mind and some contain some mild nudity which would not be in the calendar shoot either.  They are simply meant to help you understand the idea behind the actual shoot.

If you have any further questions or you are ready to be a part of this project, please email me at [email protected]. I need to know if you want to model or if you want to submit art.

As a "Thank You", all participants will also receive $50 off any future Luxury Boudoir or Modern Woman's Portrait Session.

Zephyrhills Dade City & Wesley Chapel Photography Fall Mini-Sessions https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2013/8/zephyrhills-dade-city-wesley-chapel-photography-fall-mini-sessions Our mini-sessions have been designed with 3 goals in mind.  1.  Be fun!  2.  Maintain the very high level of quality and full-service that Kristian Colasacco Art & Photography has built it's reputation on throughout the Zephyrhills, Dade City, Wesley Chapel, Tampa and Orlando area.  3.  Be affordable for everyone.

Set on a wooded location in Wesley Chapel complete with a lake, your photos will have a very authentic "fall feel" to them even if it is a balmy 90 degrees outside (Hey! I can't do anything about the weather).  We have props such as bubbles and other fun things for the little ones, you can also feel free to bring some of their favorites.  Throw in our custom "Pumpkin stand" set and there's going to be a large variety of feels to choose from.  Got your Halloween costume already.  Bring it!

I strongly believe in being a full-service studio and did not want to cut any corners for mini-sessions.  Each client will receive an 8x10 print, a 4x5 print, 4 wallets and 3 digital files with print release license.  Our prints are the highest quality available, using archival quality inks on Fuji Pearl paper to make colors pop in ways that will absolutely blow your mind.  Your photos will be edited with the greatest of care to maintain a natural look and making only subtle changes to skin imperfections.  Basically, we don't want anyone to say, "Oh, that was photoshopped".

Finally, even though it's a mini-session you're still getting that "Kristian Colasacco look" that you've loved on Facebook.  I truly don't think you'll find anywhere else offering you this kind of quality, product and experience at only $50.

And just to kick things up a notch, one person will be randomly chosen in a drawing to receive a free 16x20 canvas print valued at $400 of any of their portraits that they choose from their mini-session.

To register:

1. Check the calendar for the time slot that interests you.
2. Pay $25 non-refundable deposit.  You can use credit card through our Paypal link.
3. Tell me what date/time that you want in the notes section of your payment along with a name and an email address so that we can send instructions and directions to the event location.  If we are rained out or it happens to snow, makeup dates will be the following weekend, Oct 12th and 13th.

Tampa, Orlando Weddings Featured Vendor- All Brides 2 Be, LLC and Formalwear https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2013/8/tampa-orlando-weddings-featured-vendor--all-brides-2-be-llc-and-formalwear Each month Kristian Colasacco Art & Photography features a different service professional in the Central Florida bridal industry.  In order to be recommended they need to be exemplary in the areas of client service and going above and beyond what's typically expected in their individual fields.  We look for vendors who provide an amazing experience for couples in all phases before, after and especially on their wedding day.

All Brides 2 Be, LLC and Formalwear is our first featured vendor and is well deserving of that position.  Their business is based on having the best in client service and personal attention.  When it comes to meeting the high criteria that we have for recommended vendors, Jessica Rios at All Brides 2 Be, LLC and Formalwear definitely exceeds all of our expectations.

The two things that I noticed immediately when I met with Jessica was that she's very passionate about fashion and about dresses in particular.  The other thing she was passionate about are her clients and finding something that's absolutely perfect for them.

During our meeting, we talked for close to an hour and a half and I don't think I asked her a single actual interview question.  I know that if I were a woman looking for a gown, I'd want to meet with Jessica because she cares as much as I do about how I look and feel that when I'm wearing it. A quote of Jessica's that really struck me is "I absolutely love making women feel important and special. My priority is to give each client a custom experience for their individual needs".  It didn't stick with me because of the fact that she said it, but because of the conviction that she used when she said it. It's one thing for a person to say something but it's truly awesome when you can feel just how much they mean it.

Jessica founded the boutique in 2011 after her own wedding in 2010 and even before it when she was a part of other weddings and special events in which she was discovering that she always needed alterations and modifications. She also did not want to have a dress for a special occasion that was being worn by others as well.  Her goal was to have a dress fit for the individual instead of trying to make an individual fit the dress.  Whether you are petite, very tall, pear shaped, curvy, plus size etc, you have a dress just for you at All Brides 2 Be & Formalwear.

When it comes to weddings, All Brides 2 Be provides beautiful and unique gowns for brides that can't be found anywhere else in the Tampa Bay area.  They also provide formal wear for the entire party including dresses for Bridesmaids, and mothers of the bride and groom and tuxedo rental for the groom and his merry band of gentlemen.  If you need a dress or formalwear for any budget and occasion, All Brides 2 Be should definitely be on your very short list of places to go.

All Brides 2 Be's Mission is to provide exceptional customer service and undivided attention. So that your individual needs can be met, please call (813) 406-0403 to schedule an appointment.

Tampa Wedding Photographs Tea and Chad; In Their Words https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2013/5/tampa-wedding-photographs-tia-and-chad-in-their-words

How and where did you meet?

Our close friends, Rhyan and Ashley ( who are now married as well), were dating at the time and Chad was in a band with Rhyan. I went to meet my friend, Ashley, and see her boyfriend’s band play. They were playing a gig a Pegasus lounge and Chad was so shy that he didn’t even look my way the entire night other than when Rhyan and Ashley introduced me to the guys in the band. We eventually became friends when I would come over to their house with Ashley to hang out.

Chad, What were your thoughts when you first saw her?

I thought she was smoking hot but was focusing on the gig.

What about you Tea?

I thought this guy is kind of rude even though he’s cute since he wouldn’t talk to me at all.

So Chad, tell us how you proposed.

We went to the Hillsborough River State Park for a hike and I proposed to her on the suspension bridge

And what was going through your mind Tea?

I totally had my mind on getting away from all the mosquitos that were swarming around me as it was November at the time. When he got down on one knee I couldn’t believe it but I also thought finally!

What was the best part of the wedding?

The best part was being able to celebrate with all the people we loved in a fun laid back kind of way. The song my Dad sung really stood out for us as it was truly heart felt and very sweet.

Finally, what are your plans for the future?

We hopefully will start touring nationally with our band while we figure out how to start a family at the same time

Tea and Chad would like to thank all of the wonderful vendors who contributed to making the wedding an amazing success.

8x12 Photo Frames https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2013/5/8x12-photo-frames I went into Michael's this evening to look at picture frames which the store near my house had 6 aisles devoted to.  Surprisingly they didn't have any frames in 8x12 or even in the 2:3 format which also includes 16x24 and 4x6.  Perplexed as I was, I headed over to the frames guy who proceeded to inform me that nobody shoots in 8x12 and that everyone wants 8x10.  So of course, I argued, informed him that he's "kind of an idiot" and walked away angry.

This leaves me in a bit of an odd spot though because I'm insistent that 2:3 is a better format to shoot in than 4:5 (8x12 vs. 8x10) as it gives you more of an image.  It's the same thing as viewing your a movie on a widescreen vs. a standard screen (the old TV's) and that's how I typically frame my shots for my clients.  Well, now my clients have a hard time getting a frame that allows them to show my work in the way it was intended.  That my friends is what we in America refer to as "no bueno".

If anyone's having a hard time finding frames that fit, I've made a little list from Amazon of frames that are Amazon Prime (you can get free 2 day shipping and it's free to try for 30 days so if you don't have it get it for your order), inexpensive and most importantly, fit your photos.

4x6 Photo Frames on Amazon
8x12 Photo Frames
16x24 photo frames

The most important thing to us is that we're able to make it easy for our customers to be able to display their new artwork on their walls without experiencing the frustration that I did.

If you know of any stores that have a supply of this size, please contact me directly or just post a comment and I'll be sure to update this list.

Models Needed for Artistic Shoots https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2013/2/models-needed-for-artistic-shoots We are looking for a few models for a couple of art projects involving some nudity that we are working on and hope to shoot in the next couple of weeks.

If interested please email me at this link and include which shoot you would like to do, or if you just want to do future shoots but nothing specific yet.  Also, photos of yourself, why you're interested in a specific shoot, if you have any experience and the times/days that you're available for the designated amount of time. (I work with inexperienced all the time, don't worry if you're new)

If a shoot you are looking to be in has nudity, please send shots that show your body, likewise for topless.  They don't need to be professional, they can be your cell phone off a mirror for all that I care. The main reasons are that they're required are: I need to see how you're going to look before we spend the time setting up a shoot and also it's important to know that you're comfortable like that.  It's not good to set up a shoot and then have the model not show up because she's nervous.  We shoot with a female assistant and models are permitted to bring a friend with them if they want to provided that they are non-disruptive.  All photos submitted will be completely private (releasing something like that would be hurtful to both my reputation and my business, so please don't worry) Thanks for understanding.

Model 1:

  • Slender to medium build
  • Some dance experience or ability to move gracefully
  • Nudity required for this shoot although the final pictures will not show anything. See the example at the end of the post for a few shots where I worked with a nude model but did not have nude final images.  It's all about form.
  • Medium to long hair, color not important
  • Time commitment will be 1-2 hours for shoot.
  • Will be working at night beginning around 8:30 or so.
  • Will be working with powders like Boli powder and baby powder.
  • Makeup and wardrobe not required
  • Model to have approval on images to be released
  • Pay will be portfolio images with non-commercial use license (use them for anything but you can't sell them)

Model 2:

  • Thin to average build
  • The model will be a living statue for this shoot.
  • Topless with white body paint
  • Hair not important as the model will be wearing a wig
  • Time Commitment will be approximately 3 hours including time in makeup.  It could run longer but I will try to hold it very close.
  • Model to have approval on images to be released
  • Pay will be portfolio images with non-commercial use license (use them for anything but you can't sell them)

Model 3:

  • Thin to average build
  • Boudoir style shoot (country-girl themed)
  • Some minor nudity/lingerie will be required for the shoot.
  • Time commitment will be approximately 1-2 hours, probably closer to 1.
  • Night time shoot beginning after dark
  • Model to have approval on images to be released
  • Pay will be portfolio images with non-commercial use license (use them for anything but you can't sell them)

Christmas Portraits with Santa https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2012/11/christmas-portraits-with-santa Of all the pictures that I ever had taken when I was a child, I don't think that any of them are still more memorable and important than the ones that I had taken with Santa.  It's truly a special moment in the life of every person so why not make them even better?  I mean, getting to meet Santa is nice and if you go to the mall or if you go to any of the big studios, your child will get their picture taken with the big guy.  They'll get to sit on his lap for about 30 seconds to a minute and then they'll get a very quick photo (you better hope he's smiling) before they're ushered off so that the next child can get their minute.  That's fine but I think that the assembly line process tends to remove some of the magic of the moment.

Infinite Words Photography has teamed up with Roses Cafe and Catering at 38426 5th Ave in Zephyrhills to bring Santa to the East Pasco Community for one day only. The kids will enjoy a full 15 minutes of personal time with Santa which includes Christmas cookies and milk (his favorite) and then have their photos done until we have a photo that really captures the personality of your child and is worthy of this special moment of their life.

For the adults, Rose will have a full menu available as well for order so you can also sit back and enjoy lunch with some of the best food in the area.

Space is limited so please call 813-400-3063 in order to schedule your appointment.  A deposit of $15 is required.  *Balance to be paid at the time of the event.

Pink Party for Hope https://kristiancolasacco.com/blog/2012/10/pink-party-for-hope October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I had the privilege of being invited to photograph a "Pink Party for Hope" last night in Lakeland, Fl at an All-State Insurance office by Julie Pierce.

For this blog, I don't really want to talk too much about the technical aspects of the shoot but since I know that other photographers and many beginners read my blog, I will touch on them in a few parts.  Mainly though, I want to talk about the event itself and how breast cancer effects women and even men of all ages.

I asked Julie about her inspiration for the Pink Party for Hope event:

My inspiration for the event was my mother, we lost her to breast cancer when she was 55. I was a junior in high school te first time she battled breast cancer. Six years later there was another mass, this time it was a more aggressive cell type, that rapidly spread to her lymph nodes, spine, and rib cage. My mother was a beautiful woman inside and out. The treatments tear you about physically and mentally. I wanted to have the event, not just for awareness, but to support our friends that are survivors, and remember our loved ones that we lost.

The office is deep and narrow but there was enough room to hold the roughly 25 or so people who came along with snacks, refreshments and a very nice, homemade sangria.  One of the touches that I liked was that each food item that was placed out had a meaning behind it which was shown on the placards.
Love Pink Sangria Strawberries for Strength Brownies Make You Brave Chips of Courage Promise Pinwheels

We set up a small photo booth in the back. There were a few small technical challenges here.  The room was very small, definitely not large enough for a backdrop with a stand and it had walls to both sides making the lighting a bit of a challenge as well.  There was only one electrical outlet and there was no way to use any kind of backlighting because the backdrop needed to be hung on the wall in lieu of a stand.  This is where a good photographer becomes creative and needs to rely on either one or two light sources.  I used a strobe on the right with a diffuser instead of an umbrella because there wasn't enough room for the umbrella and then I used a continuous light with a softbox on the left.  I also only had about 6-8 feet between my camera and the subjects as a maximum distance so I couldn't use a good portrait lens.  Instead I used an ultra-wide lens and did the corrections to the distortion in photoshop.  The main thing you want to remember is to just get the shots.  I knew that these photos aren't for a magazine or anything else.  They were meant for fun and to help give the girls something to remember it by.  Always keep your end-goal in mind when setting up your shoot.  Things won't always be perfect but you don't have to tell your client that, you're getting paid to accomplish their goal.

I want my friends and family to feel beautiful, which is why I wanted the silly photos. Statistics show us that 1 in 8 will be diagnosed with breast cancer, which holds true, even in our very small sampling, 2 of our 20 guests had been. Cancer is by no means a glamorous thing, but these are some very spectacular woman that are close to us that have been through it.

Finally a survivor named Amber told her story to the rest of the group that was there.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of only 24 years of age.  The small space and intimacy of the group ensured that no eye was dry upon the conclusion of her speech.  She also noted that her aunt, who was also in attendance had just been diagnosed as well.  There are men and women of all ages being diagnosed these days.  If there's one final thing that I learned, you must get yourself checked out and do self-exams, if you feel a lump, go to the doctor and be vigilant about getting a mammogram done.

I wanted to have a small intimate group. I wasn't sure how comfortable my little space would have been if I had try to go too big. I definitely felt the intimacy in our group last night when Amber shared her story, it was so much harder than I thought. I think for Amber it was theraputic to be able to share her experience. She was nervous ahead of time, and I told her not to worry about it, we didn't have an agenda, I wanted her to be there and have a good time. She responded, "no I want to, I think it helps bring awareness". I think for her that it also helps her to heal, and to really be able to say - this is my story, this is what I went through- and being able to say she got through it, when many others don't, it's an amazing story.

Amber McDuffie shares her story 6 years after being diagnosed with cancer at 24.
Thank you for taking the time to read, please feel free to comment if you have any questions or if you just want to share a story of your own or a family member's survival.
